On June 14th, 16 participants of the summer trip met at the “Das Zeit” hotel in Lenzing. After dinner, organizer Sharon W. provided important information about the planned route and some participants rounded off the evening with a few glasses of wine.

After a hearty breakfast and a group photo, the trip started at 8:30 a.m. to the Ferdinand Porsche experience world “fahrTraum” in Mattsee. Unfortunately, Gerhard K.’s XJS broke down shortly before arrival and stopped on the main road without much warning. Wolfgang Sch. drove back to help, but unfortunately a towing service had to be called after 2 hours of resuscitation attempts. The exclusive tour through the museum shows the role of Ferdinand Porsche in the development of mobility. Most of the vehicles on display are roadworthy and can also be rented. In addition to the exciting presentation of the sensational cars in whose development Ferdinand Porsche was involved, driving simulators and a Carrera race track also provided entertainment. After a short walk through Mattsee, we fortified ourselves with excellent food at the Seewirt Mattsee with a beautiful view of the lake.

After dinner, the group met up with Wolfgang Sch. again in the parking lot of the Porsche Museum to drive together to the Ort moated castle in Gmunden. After about 1.5 hours of driving through the beautiful lake landscape, the participants arrived at the public parking lot, where the tour began after a short walk to the castle. After viewing the rooms and walking around the castle, the participants walked back to the parking lot, where Gerhard K. was already waiting for the group with a rental car.

As the rain began to fall, the last stage began at “Zum Goldenen Hirschen” in Gmunden, where the participants rounded off the trip with a delicious dinner. Some participants then drove straight home and part of the group stayed overnight in the hotel. After a late breakfast, the last participants of the trip also set off on their journey home.

Many thanks for the organization to Sharon W & Bernhard H.
