The first club evening of our West section this year took place on January 25th, 2024. Our section leader, Hannes Schaffer, came up with something very special. In cooperation with our partner Jaguar Land Rover, we were able to hold this special event on the premises of the JLR Training Center. Many thanks – at this point – to Dieter Platzer, press director for JLR Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Around 20 members and friends of the JDOST gathered in one of the seminar rooms of the training center. Dieter Platzer, host and host of the event, welcomed those present and presented interesting information from Jaguar Land Rover. Some history, the current status and a visionary outlook for the future of the company. Sitting comfortably in the training room was followed by a tour of the remaining rooms of the JLR Training Center. In addition to other (well-equipped) classrooms, we were able to take a look at the training workshops. The highlight of this presentation was a battery from a Jaguar I-PACE and a battery pack from a plug-in hybrid vehicle – something you don’t see every day. After the many impressions, Jaguar Land Rover invited us to a fantastic snack buffet. Soup, cold and warm snacks, sweets at the end… the taste buds couldn’t rest from sheer joy.
The participants then had to concentrate for a moment. Andi Icha introduced them to the ÖMVV (Austrian umbrella organization for vintage car clubs) with a focus on tasks, goals and visions. He also reported on the most important content of the JDOST General Assembly, which took place on January 18, 2024. The organizer, Hannes Schaffer, informed those present about the many JDOST events planned for 2024 and mentioned some news from our sponsor partners. Before we got to the last item on the program, Hannes Schaffer warmly thanked Dieter Platzer with a gift for the opportunity to hold this event here at Jaguar Land Rover in Salzburg. The crowning conclusion to the more than successful evening: cinema! Dieter Platzer served popcorn and the film ‘Desire’ with Damian Lewis, which was filmed in Arizona in 2013 to mark the launch of the Jaguar F-TYPE.
A big thank to Hannes Schaffer for organizing the event and to the host Dieter Platzer for the opportunity to organize the event club evening in the JLR Training Center.
